Instructions

  1. Print out the pdf Paper Piecing Template provided for this project. (Keep second copy on file if you wish to use again). Begin choosing papers from your paper pad that will match the fruits and vegetables shown in the layout. Feel free to create your own patterns for other iitems you would like to include.
  2. Select a background paper and outer paper frame. Trim inner background sheet to 11-3/8” x 11-3/8 and adhere on top of 12” x 12” framing sheet using your Glue Glider™ Pro with high tac or permanent adhesive.
  3. Trim a sheet of darker accent paper to 3-3/8” x 9-1/2”. Mount onto lighter accent paper and trim frame about 1/8” on all sides.
  4. Glue these layers together using Glue Glider™ Pro and adhesive used in step 2. Place on top of cutting mat and make small slit to insert brass brad in top left corner. Wrap piece of orange fiber around brad before securing in back. Leave loose for now on bottom. Attach to layout approximately 1” from right edge.
  5. Create your own title in Word Processing or graphics program, or print out the title art provided on your inkjet printer using Ivory Naturals CS. Use your paper trimmer to trim around title and your cutting knife to cut curve around letter A. Use a corner rounder on straight edges to soften and drag cranberry and rust pigment inks around edge. Dip stamping sponge into rust ink and drag over title in random places to give a rustic feel.
  6. Using cutting knife and cutting mat, trim around leaves on sheet of patterned cardstock. Apply Wall Art Décor Adhesive to the back of each leaf. Tip: For extra adhesion, you can also add some high tack adhesive later when you decide on permanent placement.
  7. Place paper pieces over top of your selected papers and trim with cutting knife or scissors. Edge using basic brown ink and sponge.
  8. Place pieces onto sheets of Wall Art Décor Adhesive. Lay glossy side of carrier sheet on top of adhesive and rub with fingers to transfer adhesive to paper piecings.
  9. Flip over and rub the back sides of each sheet, too to transfer the adhesive.

  10. Remove paper piecings & leaves from Wall Art Adhesive sheets and arrange on your layout for temporary placement. The Wall Art Adhesive allows you to play with placement and reposition as desired. If you have a digital camera, snap a picture of your items.
  11. Attach title to layout using Glue Glider™ Pro and high tack or permanent adhesive.
  12. Set up journaling boxes with names of your family members. Leave space for 1-3/8” photos to be placed onto journaling.
Tip: If you have the ability to create a circle in your word processing or graphics program, use that to wrap your text. Colorize text and print onto Ivory Naturals cardstock.
  13. Trim journaling box to 2-1/2” x 8-3/8”. Use spiral punch down right edge and stampin’ sponge with rust and gold pigment inks to create shading. Attach to matted layers using Glue Glider™ pro and high tack or permanent adhesive.
  14. Select photos of your family where their faces can easily fit within the circular frame without other people or distractions. Use a photo editing program such as Photoshop to copy and size all photos to same size. If you have the ability to create an outlined  1-3/8” circle on a separate layer, you can use this to check the scaling. If not, punch a circle from a sheet of CS and view photos at actual size. Place over your monitor to check sizing of photos. Print this out onto a 4 x 6 piece of glossy photo paper. Punch faces out by holding punch upside down and positioning photos within the opening of the punch. Push handle to punch out. Attach to journaling area using Glue Glider™ Pro with high tack or permanent adhesive.
  15. Determine final placement of harvest fruits and veggie paper pieces. Secure bottom of fiber strand underneath leaf and secure in place.
  16. Distress outer paper edge using your fingernails and/or the open blade of your scissors. Rub brown pigment ink wedge along distressed edging. Repeat using rust ink.
